Part 1 — Game Rules
Safety & Equipment
- Shin guards are strongly encouraged for every player.
- Knee braces must be padded or of an approved soft design — hard or exposed braces are not allowed.
- Only soccer-specific protective eyewear may be worn. Street glasses and hard frames are not permitted.
- Teams wear same-color, numbered shirts so referees can identify every player. Bring an alternate set or pinnies in case of a color clash.
- Indoor-appropriate footwear only (turf shoes or flats). No metal studs.
- No jewelry, watches, or hard hair accessories during play.
Match Format
- Matches are a full 50 minutes with certified referees, Monday nights 9:00–11:00 PM at Braemar Field, Edina.
- Divisions are men’s 7v7 (roster up to 12) and 9v9 (roster up to 16), each including a goalkeeper.
- Substitutions are unlimited and made on the fly at the designated substitution area.
- A team that cannot field enough players at kickoff may forfeit the match; specific minimums are confirmed by the league before the season.
Indoor Play
- No slide tackles. Sliding to challenge for the ball near an opponent is a foul; reckless or two-footed slides are cautionable.
- No offside.
- Dangerous high play near other players may be penalized at the referee’s discretion.
- Restarts and any field-specific rules (e.g. boundaries and ceiling play) follow the configuration in use at Braemar Field, as communicated by the league before kickoff.
Part 2 — Conduct & Discipline
- The referee’s decisions are final on the night.
- A second yellow card in a match results in a red card and ejection.
- A red card means ejection from the match and at least a one-match suspension; serious offenses carry longer bans at league discretion.
- Zero tolerance for violent conduct, fighting, or abuse of referees, opponents, or staff — this may result in removal from the league without refund.
- Captains are responsible for the conduct of their players and any spectators they bring.
Part 3 — Payments & Refunds
- Team fees: 7v7 $950 and 9v9 $1,250 per team, per season. Free agents pay $79.
- Payment locks your spot for the Fall 2026 season. Fees are due as set out in the schedule communicated by the league at registration.
- Deposits and dues are non-refundable. Register only when your team is committed.
- A team that withdraws or forfeits mid-season is not entitled to a refund, and its results may be adjusted at league discretion.
- Free agents are placed on a team before Matchday 1; the $79 fee is non-refundable once you’ve been placed.
Part 4 — Waiver & Eligibility (18+)
- All players must be 18 or older.
- Every player must sign the league waiver before their first match. No signed waiver, no play.
- Rosters lock after Matchday 4. Captains may add players up to that point.
- A player may appear on only one roster within a division.
- By registering and playing, you agree to these rules and acknowledge the inherent risks of indoor soccer.
These terms may be updated before the season; the version published on this page governs. Questions? Email apexsoccermn@yahoo.com.
